How do I create a family?

Download ChoreBucks, create a parent account with your email, and follow the setup wizard. You'll configure your allowance rules, add chores, and get a family code to share with your children.

How do children join the family?

Children open the app, tap "I'm a child", enter the family code you share with them, select their name, and create a simple PIN. No email required for children.

Can I have multiple children?

Yes! Add as many children as you need. Each child has their own profile with individual chore tracking and earnings.

Can both parents manage the family?

Yes! Generate a co-parent invite code from Family Settings and share it with your partner. They'll have full access to manage chores, approve completions, and adjust settings.

How do photo proofs work?

When creating a chore, you can require photo proof. Children will need to take a photo when marking the chore complete. Photos are automatically deleted after you approve the chore.

Can I change settings after setup?

Yes! Go to Family Settings to adjust allowance amounts, payment frequency, chore requirements, and all other options at any time.

Is my data secure?

Yes. We use industry-standard encryption, never share your data with third parties, and comply with children's privacy regulations. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Troubleshooting

App won't load or crashes

Try closing and reopening the app. If the issue persists, check for updates in the App Store or Google Play. You can also try uninstalling and reinstalling the app (your data is saved in the cloud).

Not receiving notifications

Check that notifications are enabled in your device settings for ChoreBucks. Also ensure notifications are enabled in the app under Family Settings.

Child can't join with family code

Make sure the family code is entered exactly as shown (including any dashes). If it still doesn't work, try generating a new code from Family Settings.

Forgot PIN

Parents can reset a child's PIN from the child's profile in the parent dashboard.

Delete Account

To delete your account and all associated data, please email us at help@chorebucksapp.com with the subject "Account Deletion Request". Include the email address associated with your account.

Account deletion is permanent and will remove all family data, including children's profiles and history.
