Welcome to ChoreBucks! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the ChoreBucks mobile application ("App") and related services provided by ChoreBucks ("we", "us", "our").

By downloading, installing, or using ChoreBucks, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

1. Description of Service

ChoreBucks is a family allowance management application that helps parents:

• Set up and manage allowance rules for their children
• Create and assign household chores
• Track chore completions and approve tasks
• Manage payment periods and earnings

The App is designed for family use and requires parental oversight for children's accounts.

2. User Accounts

Parent Accounts

• You must be at least 18 years old to create a parent account
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
• You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account

Child Accounts

• Child accounts can only be created by a parent within their family
• Parents are responsible for their children's use of the App
• Children access the App using a family code and PIN set up by their parent

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use ChoreBucks only for its intended purpose of family allowance management. You agree NOT to:

• Use the App for any illegal purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts
• Upload harmful, offensive, or inappropriate content
• Use the App to harass, bully, or harm others
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Use automated systems to access the App

4. Content and Data

Your Content

You retain ownership of content you upload to ChoreBucks (such as chore photos). By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to store and display this content within your family's account.

Data Handling

Our handling of your personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the App, you consent to our data practices as described in the Privacy Policy.

5. Payment and Subscriptions

ChoreBucks offers a free trial period and paid subscription plans:

• Free Trial: All new families receive a 1-month free trial with full access
• Monthly Plan: €1.99/month, billed monthly
• Annual Plan: €19.99/year, billed annually
• Lifetime Plan: €59.99 one-time payment for permanent access

Subscriptions are processed through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). By subscribing, you agree to their respective terms of service. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.

Referral Program

• Share your referral code with friends and family
• Both you and the person using your code receive 1 free month
• Each family can only use one referral code
• Maximum 12 months can be earned from referrals per family
• Referral rewards cannot be converted to cash or transferred
• We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the referral program

6. Disclaimers

ChoreBucks is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind.

• We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service
• We are not responsible for any financial arrangements between parents and children
• The App is a tool for tracking allowances, not a financial institution
• We do not process actual monetary transactions

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ChoreBucks and its creators shall not be liable for:

• Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Loss of data or service interruptions
• Any disputes between family members regarding allowances
• Any damages exceeding the amount you paid for the App (if any)

8. Termination

You may stop using ChoreBucks at any time by deleting your account. We may suspend or terminate your access if:

• You violate these Terms
• We discontinue the service (with reasonable notice)
• Required by law

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the App or email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Finland.
